Using Microsoft Office Shortcuts
Use keyboard shortcuts to type them in Microsoft Office for Windows.
- 1 For accented vowels: Press Ctrl+', then the vowel (Ctrl+'+a = á).
- 2 For Ñ: Press Ctrl+~, then the letter n (Ctrl+~+n = = ñ).
- 1 Make sure you have the right equipment. These will only work if you have a number keypad on your computer keyboard or and external USB keypad.

Type the right code. Each character in your computer has a code made up of pressing the ALT key then a three-digit number, all of which are listed below.
- á = Alt+0225
- é = Alt+00233
- í = Alt+00237
- ó = Alt+00243
- ú = Alt+00250
- ñ = Alt+00241
- ü = Alt+00252
- ¡ = Alt+00161
- ¿ = Alt+00191
- If you are not using Microsoft Office, then you must use the character map to copy the letters.
- 1 Open Character Map by clicking the Start button.
- 2 In the search box, type Character Map.
- 3 In the list of results, click Character Map.
- 4 Click the Font list, and then click the font you want to use.
- 5 Click the special character you want to insert into the document.
- 6 Click Select, and then click Copy.
- 7 Open your document and click the location in the document where you want the special character to appear.
- 8 Click the Edit menu, and then click Paste.
