Create countdowns for exciting events. Distract yourself from your partner’s departure by thinking ahead to future events. Use a calendar or an online countdown simulator to mark when a fun event is happening. If your spouse is only away from a short amount of time, try counting down to their return date! If your partner is going to be away for several months at a time, look forward to more upcoming events, like a movie night or party.
